  • by
The Beauty, Bonds & Bests of Marriage.

POINTS TO NOTE

-You are created by God to rule and have dominion in life. Marriage gives you an opportunity to come together with your spouse to rule and dominate your world.

-Marriage is not a master-servant relationship. It is a love affair.

-According to God’s assessment, a successful marriage is a platform where kingdom agenda is being accomplished.

-For every marriage there is an assignment. Marriage is a ministry. For every marriage, there is an assignment. Marriage is an institution of purpose.

-The enemy is against the institution of marriage because it is the source of the greatest threat to his assignment. His agenda is to destroy homes. But your home will never come under the siege of the enemy in Jesus name.

-It takes a fight to have a successful marriage. It has to be built. Hebrew 3:4. With the help of God.

Marital Challenges or Obstructions to a Happy Marriage:

1. A nagging, contentious and destabilizing spouse. This makes the home unbearable for the others.

2. Constant destructive criticism. When you never see anything good with your partner. We can correct our spouse but it should be done in love. The rebuke of a friend is better than the kiss of an enemy. Your spouse is your best correction model in love.

3. The Lack of submission. (1 Peter 2:1-2). Women are to submit to their husbands. To respect him simply means to humbly honor, esteem, appreciate, adore and price him highly, admire, praise and enjoy your spouse. Our Women should humbly make their opinion known and also allow their husbands to have the final say. Men perceive honor. Christ is the head of the man and man is the head of the wife. God didn’t take woman from the head of a man to drag leadership with a man or from the foot of a man so as to be trampled upon. God took the woman from the side of a man, which signifies a place of friendship and companionship. Side signifies support, stability and balance. So that together both spouse will do well.

4. Taking Decisions without consulting each other. (Genesis 2:18). A companion that can complement you is a helper. Man needs a helper not a viper. (Prov 18:22). Some women are wives and others are knives. If one can chase a thousand, two should chase ten thousand. Spouses shouldn’t carry out projects without their wives knowledge or notice.

5. Poor communication. Communication is to marriage what blood is to the body. Communicate wisely. (Prov. 31:26, Eph 4:22). Our words must build up and not tear down. Don’t paralyze your spouse. Prov 5:3 explains how the strange woman uses her mouth to lure a man out. That’s why strange women are now being used to bring down men. Learn to speak with kindness and respect. Don’t speak to your husband anyhow especially in the presence of your children. Life and death lies in the power of the tongue. (Prov 12:18)

6. Bad character. Actions speak louder than voice. See it as a project to work on your character towards your spouse and family members. It’s your attitude and action in secret that matters. Your character is like a perfume that can be perceived. It shouldn’t stink. Be a model of spiritual virtues. Live an exemplary life in secret and open and should glorify God. Don’t battle with inferiority complex. Every woman thrives in an atmosphere of love. Women multiplies whatever is put inside them. They have the power of multiplication and nurturing.

7. Unforgiveness and unwillingness to repent and quickly apologize when you are wrong. Marriage is a union of two forgivers. Unforgiveness creates bitterness in the heart and obstructs prayers.

8. Domestic violence. The enemy uses this to harass marriages. Don’t Inflict wickedness on your spouse.

9. Wrong association. Your association determines your destination. 1 Cor. 15:33. Iron sharpens iron. Not every friend is meant for every chapter of your life. Taking them to another chapter makes them a burden.

10. Infidelity. This is a killer. Where one of the partner is unfaithful. (1The 4:3. 1Cor 6:16. Prov 6:23). Be faithful to your spouse.

11. Health challenge or infertility. Chronic diseases could cause distabilization to homes but healing is the solution and it will come into your house in Jesus name.

12. Unruly children. This is the plan of the devil. Becoming a pain in the heart of their parents. Prov 29:15. Due to their peer pressure and all.

13. Unequal yoke. This could happen from education disparity. Ensure your spouse has good enough education so as to be on the same mental weight with you. Pour into your spouse and they will be what God wants them to be.

14. Bad marital foundations. Premarital sex, no legal or traditionally fulfilled marriage rites, cohabitation before marriage, etc.

15. Sexual addictions. Like pornography, masturbation, etc. These take away the sweetness of marital companionship.

16. Being insensitive to the needs of each other. You can’t tell when your wife or husband is happy or not. Hormonal imbalances and emotional stresses. You should pay attention.

17. Ingratitude, lack of romance and appreciation. Appreciate the efforts of your partner. They aren’t woods. They are humans.

DAY 2

Topic: The Role of Supernatural Parenting; Raising Godly Children to make God Happy.

Text: Malachi 2:15, Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Points to Note:
-Every child is born into the world with a divine agenda and a God ordained destiny. No child is an accident. (Jeremiah. 1:5)

-Supernatural parenting is not just discovering the agenda of God for a child but deliberately training and packaging your child to fulfill that agenda and his destiny.

-No child is born into the world already trained, or transformed or born again. Children come into the world like David said, in sin, so they must be raised in admonition to become godly seeds.

How to Raise Godly Seeds Unto God.
1. We need to pray over our children. Bless them and speak into their destiny. It should be a conscious effort to prophesy into their lives. (Job 1:5). The words and prayers over your children are never wasted. Prayers do not decay. They are investments. (Lamentations 2:19. Luke 1:77;80)

2. We need to train and encourage our children. Proverbs 22:6. It involves making sure they are rooted in christ. John 6:9. Pour into your children. Begin from the cradle to train them. Prov 1:8. Father dishes instructions. Mother dishes teachings. Proverbs 10:1.

3. We need to be great mentors and pillars to our children. A mentor sees your potential and pulls it out for you. 2Timothy 1:5-6. Your spiritual strength to a great extent is determines what happens in the home.

4. We need to Show them examples from Godly life and character. Whatever you want to market to your children, live it. Children copy character faster than our words.

5. Teach them to be domesticated. How to take care of themselves and the home. It is for everyone, male and female. Teach them basic things they need to know in terms of house keeping. Teach them diligent, hard work and excellent service.

6. Teach them to keep themselves pure. The world is full of contamination, peer pressure and social media are all there to cause impurities. But purity and holiness must be taught in the family. Teach them about sex education and what is a private part that shouldn’t be played with.

7. Practicalize your love for your children. Let your children know you love them. Don’t yell at them. Tell them you love them. Make the home a peaceful loving place. Don’t harass children so much to make them prefer to hang around outside with strangers and friends than with the family at home.

8. Protect your children from pollution. They could be by movies, musics and books. Atimes pollutions can be by strange family members such as relations, helps and domestic workers.

9. Discipline your children. Parents should correct their children together. Prov 13:24, 23:13, 22:15.

10. Keep the communication line open between you and your children. Don’t shut them down. If they ask questions answer them. It is intelligent children that ask more questions.

11. Be careful of the words you use on them. Many children are suffering from the negative words spoken to them by their parents. There are no idle words in the realm of the spirit. Words will germinate, so choose rightly. Name them prophetically. Don’t name children after the situation they were born into. There is something in a name.

12. Help your children to be rooted in God. Isaiah 34:3-5.

13. Help them to build a quiet time lifestyle. A regular and effective prayer life. Let them participate fully in family devotions. Listen to true Christian messages and encourage them to know commitment and dedication as well as values and virtues. As much as possible teach them how to handle peer pressure.

14. Teach them how to man their gates. There are gates that must be manned. Serval gates in the body such as the eyes, ears, mouth, sexual organs, etc. Find out the company they keep.

15. Establish a strong family altar. Genesis 18:19, make the devotion exciting. Don’t serve God in a boring way so that it won’t discourage them. Be excited about God.

Prayer Points
1. Lord show us mercy in the training of our children. Forgive us on areas we haven’t done well.

2. Lord we cancel the negative effect of any wrong word we have spoken over our family and children.

3. Lord whatever package the enemy has put together to derail the destiny of our Children, the fire of God shall consume it. The rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the children of the righteous.

4. Lord Release deliverance upon our children. Every seed of the wicked/enemy that has been released against our children to erode their destiny, backfire in the Name of Jesus, it shall not prosper. Job 5:19

5. Every sponsored warfare from hell raging against the destiny, your assignment is over, catch fire in the name of Jesus. We break the yoke of the enemy against their lives. Psalm 46:9.
